1. Privacy Overview
Toqo is a personal mineral and gemstone collection manager. The app focuses on recording your own specimen details, organizing them in custom piles, and helping you browse reference mineral knowledge. Privacy in Toqo starts with a simple design: no mandatory account creation for core use.
Most information in Toqo exists because you choose to enter it while using collection features.
2. No-Account Experience
Since no sign-in is required, the app does not depend on usernames or passwords to unlock your collection workflow. You can add specimens, search records, browse taxonomy, explore wiki entries, and manage piles directly after launch.
- No registration form is needed to access collection features.
- No default profile page is required for standard use.
- Your data continuity depends on your own device state and app lifecycle.
3. Data You Add in Toqo
Toqo allows detailed specimen records. Information you add can include specimen names, aliases, notes, color, hardness, luster, transparency, crystal system, fluorescence, locality, purchase details, storage location, display status, and pile organization links.
This data powers your own in-app features such as searching, filtering, detail pages, and chart-based summaries.
4. Photos and Device Access
Toqo can access your camera and photo library when you choose to add specimen images. These actions happen as part of user-triggered workflows such as “Gallery” or “Camera” in specimen editing.
- Photo access is used for specimen image attachment.
- Camera access is used when taking new specimen photos in-app.
- Cover photo selection and image display are tied to your collection records.
5. Statistics and Visual Summaries
Toqo includes a statistics section that turns your own collection entries into visual summaries, such as category distribution, hardness ranges, color trends, display status, and collection timeline views.
These views are generated from your saved specimen data and exist to help you understand your collection patterns.
6. Local Storage Behavior
Collection data and related assets are stored to support app operation, including local specimen records and photo files. Mineral reference content and taxonomy assets are also used in-app for wiki and browsing experiences.
- Specimen records are persisted for normal day-to-day collection management.
- Photo files are linked to your specimen entries and can be removed with your content actions.
- If app data is removed from the device, associated records may no longer be available in the app.
7. Editing and Deleting Your Data
Toqo gives direct editing controls. You can update specimen details, remove photos, reassign pile memberships, delete piles, and delete specimen entries when needed.
The app is designed so organizational actions are reversible where appropriate, while destructive actions such as deleting a specimen remove that record from your collection views.
8. App Tracking Transparency Flow
On supported iOS devices, Toqo resolves the App Tracking Transparency flow at startup. This step is handled through the platform permission mechanism as part of app launch behavior.
Permission decisions are managed through your device-level controls. You can review and adjust app permissions in system settings.
